Larry King Live
Date of transmission: Tuesday 16 October 2001
Network: CNN
Thanks
to Donald Ruangsorn for giving us early alert about this
appearance.
Charlotte
made a surprise appearance on Larry King Live to sing a
tribute to all those who perished during the September 11th
attacks on the United States. While this appearance doesn't
fall into the category of being promotional, it did fall right
in between the Enchantment tour dates and Charlotte's album
was mentioned thus we've archived it here at the Enchantment micro site
for your enjoyment. Charlotte performed one of her fan favourites,
"Amazing
Grace"
and discussed her reaction after touring the World Trade
Center wreckage.

Larry King:
Standing by in our New York studios is Charlotte Church, the 15 year-old singing sensation. Her latest album is called "Enchantment", and Charlotte is going to do a song for us as we do every night on the uplift side.
Larry King: You went to Ground Zero, didn't you not, Charlotte?
Charlotte Church: Yes I did, and it was very touching and you know it was just -- i mean it's so difficult for a child to comprehend the enormity of the September 11th attacks and the enormity of this whole kind of new war going on, and so it was quite hard to kind of take in. But I wanted to go down there because I wanted to pay my respects, and I wanted to see history in the making. And then when we went down there, there were so many people with cameras and camcorders, and it was just like, well why do people kind of feel the need to do that? It's kind of like seeing first-hand the whole human morbid fascination thing. It's strange.
LK: It never gets out of you. Charlotte, we will now do what you do so well. We will close our program - - we will be back a little while to tell you about tomorrow's guests, but here is the wonderful Charlotte Church and "Amazing Grace."
(Charlotte sings "Amazing
Grace")
