Picnic
with Pavarotti is a chance for you to encounter la dolce vita
as Safeway bring together a total Italian experience in Hyde
Park as a grand finale to our Italian event running in store
during June 2001. A spectacular concert featuring Pavarotti
and others (to be confirmed) will be held. This concert is
Pavarotti’s only UK tour date in 2001. For those of you who
may remember, his last concert in Hyde Park was held in front
of Prince Charles over 10 years ago. As you can see, this is
an opportunity not to be missed.
The event will have an Italian theme running throughout,
featuring food, drink, culture and spirit of Italy. Sample
Safeway’s Italian range of food and drink on site at the
Italian themed village.
Safeway are proud to announce that child prodigy Charlotte Church, violinist Vanessa Mae and British Tenor Russell Watson have been confirmed to appear at ‘Picnic with Pavarotti’ in Hyde Park on July 14.
In a truly one-off performance, classical music’s brightest young stars will grace the stage with opera’s number one tenor. This is also to be the maestro’s Pavarotti’s only UK show this year. The event, in conjunction with the Prince’s Trust, will mark the finale of ‘Viva Italia Safeway’, a month long nationwide in-store celebration of the food, drink, culture and spirit of Italy.
On hearing the news, Pavarotti commented: “This is wonderful. Charlotte, Vanessa and Russell are amazing talents and I am thrilled they will be performing on the same stage as me in front of their home crowd.”
Charlotte Church enthused: “Luciano Pavarotti is one of the reasons I love to sing and to perform with him is a dream come true.”
Safeway Chief Executive Carlos Criado Perez is also thrilled: “It is fantastic that Charlotte, Vanessa and Russell have joined the bill of what promises to be a very special day out for all the family.”

Standard tickets are now sold out. Grandstand and VIP tickets are still available. A Grandstand ticket is £35 and for this you receive a seat in the grandstand or treat yourself to VIP ticket for £80 entitling you to a reserved seat near the front of the stage, exclusive souvenir gift, show programme and selected refreshments at your seat.
How to Book Your Ticket
There are two ways to purchase tickets...
1. Grandstand and VIP tickets can be booked
online. Grandstand tickets will incur a £2.80 booking fee and VIP tickets will incur a £5 booking fee. Booking fees are per ticket which includes postage and packaging.
2. Call the Safeway Picnic with Pavarotti ticket Hotline on 0870 735 2100 for VIP tickets. Tickets will incur a £5 booking fee per ticket which includes postage and packaging.

All ticket sales are subject to availability.
Restrictions for the event have been put in place and form part of the terms and conditions. No alcohol or drinks in glass or cans are permitted to be brought into the event, nor are chairs, tables, barbecues or prima-stoves. Food carrying containers cannot exceed 18" x 18" x 12".
