Charlotte
Church Celebrating 14Th Birthday With Surprise Zoo Party
CHARLOTTE
Church will be celebrating her 14th birthday today with a
surprise party being held in her honour at a zoo in Sydney.
The
teenage soprano is in Australia promoting her second album.
Her
record company Sony has arranged the surprise party for the
Cardiff schoolgirl at the city’s Taronga Zoo.
A
spokeswoman for Charlotte said the birthday girl would be
taken on a boat trip before her afternoon visit to the zoo.
After
taking part in some inter-views, she will be surprised with
the party.
Charlotte
was due to arrive in Australia on Saturday following a tour of
Asia.
It is her
first visit to the country and in between her series of
inter-views, she hopes to meet up with some distant relatives.
The visit
is part of Charlotte’s tour of Asia and Australia to promote
her second album, simply called Charlotte Church.
The
album, which was released internationally last November, has
already gone gold in Australia and many Asian countries,
including Singapore and Japan.
Charlotte’s
birthday celebrations have already got under way. Last week
she was presented with a birthday cake while she was in Tokyo
for the Asian leg of her promotional tour.
“She
loved Japan,” said the spokeswoman. “It’s her favourite
place and she’s enormously popular there.”
Charlotte
will return to Cardiff on March 10 via Scandinavia.
She will
then return to her lessons at Howell’s School in Llandaff.
