Note: For those who read this transcript that for whatever reasons
can not see the video .. I include a description of Charlotte during
this appearance.
Charlotte
on this day was dressed in a beautiful burgundy wine coloured dress.
while a portion of her hair hung down above her eyebrows, the
majority of her hair was pulled back in a very high pony tail at the
back of her head tied off with a pretty burgundy bow. A very pretty
smile bedecked her face with an almost angelic joy. About her neck
she wore a thin silver necklace with a silver heart shaped pendant
hanging on it. The pendant had a single diamond chip on it. Her ears
carried dangly diamond cut drop style earrings. Upon her feet
Charlotte wore high heeled sandles made of thin leather straps and
heels that were solid base heels with approximate heel height of
four inches. Her outfit was complemented with a sort of velous
draping burgundy coloured jacket which covered her arms and
shoulders and drapped behind her for the length of the dress. When
she walked the material of the jacket would flow back behind her
with an almost etherial look. The effect was very stunning and
beautiful. Almost like burgundy coloured wings.
Charlotte
walked into sight at the top of the stage stairs as the introit
music to "If I Loved You"
started playing. She proceeded down the stairs to the dais where the
microphone stood there just waiting for her to come sing into it.
When her backing music reached the right note Miss. Church began
singing.]
Charlotte
: "If I loved you,
Time and again I would try to say
All I want you to know.
If
I loved you,
Words wouldn't come in an easy way.
Round in circles I'd go.
Longing
to tell you, but afraid
and shy.
I'd let my golden chances pass me by.
Soon
you'd leave me.
Off you would go in the mist of day.
Never, never to know,
How I loved you.
If I loved you."

Notes : As the crowd clapped enthusiastically for her performance,
Charlotte then walked down from the dais and onto the
interview set. There she sat beside a man named Larry and across
from Peter. Peter stood like a gentleman to welcome Charlotte, and
to wait for her to sit. Then he reseated himself. After Charlotte
was seated .. turning to Charlotte .. Larry who remained seated
while Charlotte entered addressed her as to why he did.]
Larry
: "Charlotte .. will you forgive my bad manners in not getting
up. I had a bad fall recently."
Charlotte
: "[she giggled and then realizing what he said she said]
Ohhhhhhhhh."
Larry
: "So you must forgive me for that."
Charlotte
: "Oh that's ok."
Larry
: "Uhh you know on my 84th birthday I had a telegram from a
comedian named Eddie Youngman. He said Larry,
today you're 84 and you look it."
[Transcribers
Notes : Audience laughed
here]
Peter
to Charlotte : "When .. when you started singing .. how old
were you?"
Charlotte
: "Well .. I think I was about eight. Yeah eight."
Peter
: "Is that when you decided that you were going to become a
singer?"
Charlotte
: "Well .. when I decided I was going to become a singer that
is when I first started going to singing lessons. That was when I
was nine and a half."
Peter
: "What happened to the Spice
Girls and all those type of ... you just went straight to
opera."
Charlotte
: "Ummm .. No. Umm .. I still like normal bands today and
stuff. I like the new bands The
Corrs and Natalie Imbruglia
and All
Saints. I'm a normal child .. but ..."
Peter
: "[bursts into laughter followed by the audience.]"
Charlotte
: "... but I do happen to like Opera and musicals and
singing."
Peter
: "What does the future enhold? What would .. what would you
like?"
Charlotte
: "Well ... umm .. I'd like to be in Opera when I'm
older."
