Athens Concert Cancelled | October 25

Charlotte's concert scheduled for 29 October in Athens Greece has been cancelled according to Megaron, the venue where the show was to take place. Ticket holders will receive refunds in November.

Charlotte has been nominated for a WRIT award, the new Welsh answer to the BRIT awards. She'll be competing against Bonnie Tyler, Siana James and Cerys Matthews for the title of Best Solo Female. The awards will be held 27 November at the Cardiff International Arena.

Elton to headline Royal Variety Oct 15 2001

Sir Elton John is to headline the Royal Variety Performance - his first for nearly 30 years, it was announced today.

The superstar will perform tracks from his latest album Songs From The West Coast at the event in London's Dominion Theatre before the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh.

Others who will perform on November 26 include actress and pop sensation Jennifer Lopez, teenage star Charlotte Church and Craig David.

Comic Al Murray, known for his near-the-knuckle humour as The Pub Landlord, is to appear as will Julian Clary.

Sir Elton last appeared at the Royal Variety Show in October 1972, just before his classic Crocodile Rock was a hit.

Jeff Thacker, producer of the show to be screened on ITV later this year, said: "I feel honoured that so many top international stars from all areas of entertainment have accepted to appear on the show.

"This is one of the most exciting line-ups we have seen in one Royal Variety Performance for many years."
