Welcome to the Charlotte Church Forums

Board Rules

Q: What can I post?
A: Almost anything, as long as it is related in some way to the Forum topic to which you are posting. We have a variety of different forums so hopefully every conceivable topic or discussion is covered. If you want to request the creation of a new forum please send a post to the New Forums thread in "CharlotteChurch.net Rants and Raves".
Do not post Music or Music Videos from album's or DVD's that are available from retail outlets.
Since the audience includes people of all ages, races, creeds and colors, it is important that you be considerate. Here are a few ground rules and restrictions:

-Do NOT
use vulgar or obscene language. Any words that sound unsuitable for an eight year-old to use should stay off the boards.

-Do NOT
insult or otherwise personally attack other Forum members or their views. Discussion over issues is encouraged to help create an open and free dialogue among fans of Charlotte Church. However, the loss of civility destroys the concept of an open and free dialogue. As my mother says, if you don't have something nice to say to someone, don't say it. Spirited discussion IS encouraged but not to the point where it may alienate other members or viewers. -Racism and bigotry (including religious and sexual orientation) WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. Engaging in such practices in the Forums will most likely result in an immediate ban from posting.

-Do NOT
use the Forums to proselytize (try to convert people) or otherwise preach about your religion. We have had problems with this in the past. We have Christians, Jews, Atheists, and others who post regularly here, and many others that read without posting. The Forums are meant to be a place where all people of any religious background may talk about Charlotte Church without fear or pressure from others of different faiths. However, it IS okay to discuss the religious implications of Charlotte's music, or even religion in general as long as it is relevant to the subject matter of the topic and not an attempt to convert other people.

-Similarly, do NOT use the Forums to promote particular moral or ethical views. What may be a universal truth to you may be totally offensive to someone else. Please keep these discussions off these boards.

-Do NOT
use the Forums to give out highly personal information about yourself or someone else, including, but not limited to: home phone, address, exact location, sexual orientation/preference, financial information, account passwords, Social Security or other identification numbers, or anything about you or someone else that they do not want the entire world to see.

-Do NOT
use the Forums to promote any site, product or service that will provide you with a personal or financial gain. However, if you are buying, selling or trading Charlotte merchandise, please use the "Charlotte exchange" Forum.

-We ask that you refrain from posting items that contain sensitive information about Charlotte's private life. Because of the sensationalizing of the half truths and unsubstanciated rumors we avoid posting most tabloid articles. This site is about Charlotte and Charlotte's career, and although career and personal life cannot always be completely separated, we think Charlotte's personal life is hers and should not be discussed here in the Forums. As her father James has said, "She is entitled to a private life and it is no-one else's business."

We acknowledge that from time to time there will be instances where stories are released through the media that are controversial in nature -- that is, they discuss things that infringe on Charlotte's private life. Such stories or discussion about them are undesired and thus are not allowed. The only exceptions are stories that include comments from Charlotte, her family, or a member of her team. This allows a fair and balanced approach and gives Charlotte an opportunity to respond to whatever claims are made. If the story is sensitive in nature and the journalist has not asked Charlotte or her team for comment, it should be treated as speculation and not posted on the Forums.

-Under NO circumstances shall there be any posts related to any topics of an explicit sexual nature. This is a family-friendly site, and such discussion could result in an immediate ban from the Forums.

If you are not sure if it is appropriate to publish a post, please contact a Moderator or Administrator, and feel free to forward the post to them using a Private Message (PM) or e-mail.

Q: How many times may I post?
A: Depends on how much you want to say! However, multiple postings of the same exact message are highly disrespectful to other members and break up the flow of conversations. If you repeatedly engage in such an activity, you will be banned.

Q: Who are the Moderators and what do they do?
A: The Moderators are fellow Forum members who routinely check all postings and make sure they conform to the guidelines listed here. Many of them remain anonymous and use TeamCC as their moderating login. They have the ability to edit or delete any post for content and to ban anyone from the Forums.

Q: Are there any rules regarding Private Messages (PMs)?
A: Yes. Here are a few guidelines:

-Do NOT
use the PM system to harass other members. Repeated incidents of harassment will result in a ban from the Forums. If you do not wish to accept PMs from anyone, you can edit your profile in 'My Home' to block him or her.

-Do NOT
use the PM system to solicit products, services or causes, including religious beliefs. -We do not encourage the exchange of personal contact information such as phone numbers or addresses in the PM system. There is always the danger of someone hacking into the CCnet server, so no PM is completely safe; thus, you exchange such personal information at your own risk. Furthermore, exchanging sensitive information to someone you have not met and/or do not know well is NOT recommended. -If you are being harassed through the PM system please notify an Administrator or Moderator and include the name of the user in question.

Q: Are my PMs Private?
A: Yes. Every message sent through our PM system is private. However, you should be aware that if someone complains of PM system abuse or harassment as outlined above, Administrators have the ability to access any account and read PMs to determine if any abuse or harassment has occurred. Please note that this is not a regular practice, and under no circumstances will any Administrator read your PMs unless someone complains of abuse or harassment.

Q: Am I allowed to post links to any outside site?
A: Yes, but there are limitations. Posting links to sites with content inappropriate for children is strictly forbidden. Furthermore, linking to sites carrying stolen content from CharlotteChurch.net is also forbidden. If you are unsure about posting a link to a site please notify a Moderator or Administrator. This rule also applies to specific documents on outside sites.

Q: My post, thread or membership was deleted! Why?
A: In order to provide a peaceful and safe environment we must at all times monitor the content of all posts according to the preceding guidelines. If a post is not in accordance with the guidelines above it WILL be deleted. Occasionally whole threads are deleted if the discussion gets out of hand. In these cases, all posts in the thread will be deleted regardless of content. Furthermore, any member who does not adhere to the guidelines above will have their accounts deleted. If you think the deletion of your post or membership was a mistake please send a PM or e-mail an Administrator. The Moderators and Administrators are required to contact you immediately after a post, thread or membership has been deleted. If you get no contact within a reasonable time, please report it to an Administrator. We require this to ensure that no Moderator or Administrator acts unjustly.
